OPEN × Rene Herse MIN.D. Frameset, Limited Edition

$3,900.00

The OPEN MIN.D. distills the essence of a road bike—a light, nimble feel and easy speed—without the harshness. Rolling on tires up to 33 mm wide, and with a continuous slim seat tube and pencil-thin, slightly curved seatstays, the MIN.D. soaks up vibrations and road shocks with astonishing ease. For paved rides (and occasional gravel), it’s all the bike you need—and a bike you’ll love.

To create a modern interpretation of Rene Herse’s aesthetic, we’ve worked with award-winning Tokyo design studio There There, who also designed our book The All-Road Bike Revolution and our water bottles. The color is inspired by the classic ‘Bleu Herse,’ now in a matte finish to reflect the different properties of carbon as frame material, rather than steel. Steel, as used for the mid-century Rene Herse bikes, is thin, cold and smooth. Glossy paint reflects those properties. Carbon has more volume and is warm to the touch. The matte paint of the OPEN × Rene Herse emphasizes this difference. The insides of rear triangle and fork blades are painted midnight blue, making the bike look slim and fast. OPEN’s signature multi-colored rings on the head tube and fork blade, plus the OPEN logo on the seat tube, complement the classic Rene Herse logo on the down tube.

The first OPEN × Rene Herse MIN.D.—the bike shown in the photos—is the personal bike of Andy Kessler from OPEN. The second frame is for Jan. And now we’re offering the opportunity to get one yourself.

Pre-order your frame until 7/28/2024. The frames will be painted in Italy and delivered directly to our customers in September. The frames are painted individually; the first orders will receive their frames earlier. World-wide shipping is $ 150.
