Set: 700C x 31 Orondo Grade + TPU Tube

It was about time somebody made a road tire specifically for TPU tubes and modern rims! We are now offering the TPU-specific version of our best-selling 700C x 31 Orondo Grade tires with a matching TPU tube, as a set.

Originally designed for tubeless installation, our Orondo Grade tires use an ultralight and extra-strong bead material. What if we took that bead, but left out the liner that makes the Orondos airtight for tubeless installation? The answer is the ultimate road tire for TPU tubes: even lighter, even faster, and tailor-made for modern rims.

The supple casings of Rene Herse tires roll fast, absorb road buzz and grip exceptionally well. The Standard casing is our more affordable option: comfortable and fast, yet also strong to withstand considerable abuse. The Extralight casing takes performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level.

TPU tubes roll faster than tubeless setups and butyl tubes. They are feather-light and more puncture-resistant than butyl tubes. Rene Herse TPU tubes have patented all-metal valves. This eliminates the mysterious leaks that can occur with plastic valve stems—they tend to deform when the metal valve cores are screwed in.

Available with Presta valve, 50 mm (polished or black) or 70 mm (black). Smooth valve stems make it easier to attach and remove press-on pump heads. Suitable for disc and rim brakes.

Important: All Orondo Grade tires work only with modern rims that have a relatively deep ETRTO-spec well in the center. Do not use with classic rims that have a very shallow well (Mavic MA-2, MA-40, many Campagnolo models, etc.)—the tires will be very difficult to mount. For those rims, we recommend our 700C x 32 Stampede Pass.

Pro Tip: The TPU-specific Orondos use a tubeless-compatible bead and are marked ‘TC’ (tubeless-compatible) to indicate that they are compatible with modern tubeless rims. However, they are not recommended for tubeless installations: They may not seal easily.
