The Rene Herse Pass Tour

Realizing that Rene Herse tires are named after real passes, ridges, and climbs—places that one can go ride—Henley Phillips schemed a route that linked together as many passes as he could squeeze into a short bikepacking trip. He wrote up his adventure for bikepacking.com, complete with beautiful photos of mid-summer riding in the Cascade and Olympic Mountains.

Henley writes: “I took the names of a few tires and turned them into an experience that started with a raccoon eating my frame bag and ended with a plate of Oaxacan enchiladas.” And to top it off, he had an epiphany along the way, about what it means to be a ‘good rider’…
