TPU Tube Pre-Order
The response to our TPU tubes has been extraordinary. Production has not been able to keep up with demand. A significant portion of orders are from repeat customers, who are outfitting additional bikes with TPU tubes. Why do they love these new tubes so much?
There are many reasons. Light weight is an obvious one. Low rolling resistance is perhaps even more important. Extra strength is a plus. But the main reason appears to be the ride quality. In one of the Internet forums, a reader explained: “I’m running these tubes with RH Rat Trap Pass Extralight tires and the feel and the sound reminds me of tubular tires. It makes the bike feel more lively in some way, and I do like that. Are the TPU tubes faster than Butyl tubes? I can’t say for sure. I’m tempted to say yes, but I know that would be totally subjective. Do they increase my enjoyment of riding my bike? To that, I can definitely say yes.”
Another poster mentioned their experience: “I am shocked at how much better my bike rolls with the TPU tubes vs the butyl tubes they replaced. It is borderline magical.”
